Il ritorno di Ulisse in patria

Tornano le collaborazioni del Coro Costanzo Porta con le migliori orchestre del panorama barocco italiano ed europeo. Il 20 aprile l’ensemble affiancherà l’orchestra Europa Galante ed il suo direttore e fondatore, il maestro Fabio Biondi, insieme ad un notevole cast di solisti, per la messa in scena di una delle tarde opere del genio monteverdiano composta per la città di Venezia: il Ritorno di Ulisse in Patria.

Il concerto registra già il tutto esaurito per i più di 2000 posti della Großer Saal della Elbphilarmonie di Amburgo, moderna e suggestiva struttura inaugurata a gennaio 2017 nel quartiere HafenCity, proprio sul fiume, e già diventato nuovo importante punto di riferimento culturale ed architettonico per la grande città tedesca.

Il Venice Festival, in cui l’appuntamento si inserisce, porterà per Pasqua la città lagunare e la sua ricca identità musicale sull’Elba, giocando sul parallelo tra l’antica città ed il nuovo teatro, entrambi fortemente legati all’acqua e circondati da canali.

The Costanzo Porta Choir gets back to its collaborations with some of the best baroque orchestras in Italy and Europe. On April 20th it will be the turn for the ensemble to perform with the Europa Galante Orchestra and its director and founder – violinist and conductor Fabio Biondi – together with a remarkable cast of soloists, for the staging of one of Monteverdi’s most mature works, composed for the city of Venice: the opera Il Ritorno di Ulisse in Patria.

More than a month in advance, tickets are already sold out for the more than 2000 seats of the Großer Saal of the Elbphilarmonie in Hamburg, a modern and striking concert hall, inaugurated January 2017, right on the river in the HafenCity city district, and already become a very identifiable and beloved cultural and architectural landmark for the big German city.

The event is part of the Venice Festival, which is planning to transport the Italian city – and its rich musical identity – to the Elbe over  Easter, drawing on the parallels between the lagoon jewel and the new architectural jem of Hamburg, both built on water and sorrounded by canals.
